Save Hemel HospitalMike continues to fight for a full acute hospital to serve the residents of Hemel Hempstead.
Mike says: “I WILL ALWAYS FIGHT FOR A REAL HOSPITAL FOR HEMEL”The current situation where Hemel people have to travel to the far side of Watford to get vital care is a farce. I will always fight for a full acute hospital for the residents of Hemel Hempstead. Labour seem determined to wind down services at Hemel Hospital, something we have all fought against for many years. However, with the wards and operating theatres gone and the A&E closed and boarded up, our options diminish day by day. Sadly, it now looks that by the likely time of the General Election, the vandalisation of the facilities will have concluded with most of our beloved hospital lost. The doctors, nurses and staff at Watford and St. Albans are not to blame for our situation. They are trying their best to provide care to the people of the Hemel Hempstead area. The Government’s strategy of underfunding our region in favour of their northern heartlands has led to this awful situation. I am committed to fighting for our own full service hospital in Hemel – which is something I really believe is still achievable. However, in the meantime, I will continue to press the Government and their NHS bureaucrats at every opportunity to stop the cuts and allow the people of Hemel to have the quality of service they deserve. We should never forget what Labour has done to our hospital.
